The Dolphins controlled much of the possession early, forcing Vaca into multiple saves before breaking through in the 38th minute when Kerrigyn Lynam scored off a feed from Aiyanna Robles Sedano. SLC nearly found an equalizer moments later when Katherine Varghese rang a shot off the crossbar, but the Gryphons went into halftime trailing 1-0. The Gryphons had an opportunity to climb back into the match in the 84th minute when Chaffin earned a penalty, but her attempt was saved by Javiera Sanchez to preserve the shutout.
