PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence Women's Cross Country team put together their second straight impressive run at the Purchase Invitational on Saturday morning. The incumbent Gryphons finished second behind the United States Coast Guard Academy, finishing above all eight scoring Skyline opponents in the field.
Perry Yun,
Whitney Hall,
Caitlin McCabe, and
Ali Xhafa led the team with a quartet of top 15 scores. Yun led the pack with an 11th-place time of 17:44.3 with Hall and McCabe following in 12th and 13th respectively with finishes under the 18-minute mark. Xhafa rounded out the first group with a time of 17:55.9, helping the team pace all Skyline schools in the field.
Al Sinclair,
Isabella Moya and
Kallisti Milatou-Fakountou rounded out the team's scoring finishers with three more top-40 results. Dahlia Shepherd,
Emery Brandhorst,
Haley Balka,
Genevieve Clark and
Ella Langford rounded out the team's efforts.
On the men's side,
Thomas Matonti led the charge with a time of 25:41.0, followed by
Gavin Wright,
Michael Duwin,
Noah Carey and
Aiden Morel. The Gryphons finished 11th in the 15-team field, with Matonti's 53rd-place finish leading the five top-75 finishers.

The Gryphons will return to action on Saturday, September 20th as they head to Annandale-on-Hudson for the Fred Pavlich Invitational starting at 10:30 a.m. The Gryphons will look to continue their strong season start as they reach the midway point of their 2025 campaign.
