BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's volleyball team fell after a strong first set to the visiting Bears of St. Joseph's Brooklyn. The Gryphons took a 25-15 lead before the Bears rallied for a 3-1 victory in the penultimate match of the 2026 season.

Notable Performers

• Jack Cahill totaled 18 kills along with 12 digs
• Mikel Miller racked up 10 kills in the defeat
• Alex Xie totaled 36 assists along with four kills
• Jackson Perhaes had an efficient seven kills and 11 digs

How it Happened

A pair of aces from Xie capped an early 8-2 run by the Gryphons as the team jumped ahead early in the first set. Perhaes, Miller, Cahill and Xie all added kills to keep the team ahead as SLC cruised to a 25-15 first-set victory. The two teams battled in a close second set, with a 7-2 SLC run putting the hosts ahead 22-18 and positioning them for an early 2-0 lead. The Bears took the next six points to reach set point before a Cahill kill delayed a 25-23 SJBK victory. The visitors dominated the latter parts of sets three and four to stay ahead and claim the victory.

The Gryphons (11-14, Skyline 5-8) will return to action for the team's 2026 season finale and senior day on Saturday, April 4th, against Purchase College. The Gryphons and Panthers will face off at 1:00 p.m. in the final match of the season.
