HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - The Sarah Lawrence equestrian team returned to the ring for the first time this semester, posting a double-digit ribbon performance. The Gryphons particularly excelled in the pre novice flat, taking the top two spots in the event.
The Gryphons had a pair of riders earn multiple ribbons, as captain
Maeve Lamson earned fifth- and sixth-place finishes in the intermediate fences and open flat events. Teammate
Angel Chen placed third in the open fences before a fifth-place ride in the intermediate flat. As mentioned earlier, the squad dominated the pre novice flat, with three Gryphons ribboning and a pair taking the top two spots.
Rose Stabile was the team's top finisher in the event, and on the day overall, earning a blue ribbon just ahead of teammate
Nyah Raposo's red ribbon performance to secure the second spot in the event.
Emma Androne rounded out the trio of scoring riders with a sixth-place performance for the Gryphons. The team also performed well in the novice flat, with
Talia Rosenthal leading the way with the team's second red ribbon of the day.
Leena Mathiasen placed fourth in the event while
Summer Stammely rounded out a solid trio of competitors with a sixth-place ride.
Tulsi Purushotham rounded out the team's slate of competitors with a strong performance in the introductory flat, placing fourth and helping the team to a fourth double-digit ribbon performance of the season.

The Gryphons will wrap up the regular season with a Sunday show at Crosswinds Equestrian Center on March 1st. The show, hosted by Marist, will be the team's final showing before the IHSA Regionals and Zones competitions that lead up to IHSA Nationals. Lamson and Raposo have already qualified for the IHSA Regionals event, Lamson doing so in the intermediate and Raposo in the introductory flat.
