BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Sarah Lawrence first years
Sarah Theriault and
Jack Cahill both earned recognition from the Skyline Conference this week, with Theriault taking home a fifth Rookie of the Week award while Cahill earned an honorable mention in the same category.
Theriault and the Gryphons took the court twice this week, hosting Farmingdale State College and Merchant Marine, two of the top five teams in the conference at the moment. The first year poured in 14 points against the Rams before a 19-point and 12-rebound effort against USMMA, shooting over 56% from the field and distributing five assists. The Maine product now has five double-doubles on the season while averaging 16.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Theriault and the Gryphons will return to action on Tuesday as they head to UMSV and wrap up the regular season with three straight road contests.
Cahill and the Gryphons played just one match this past week, traveling to Madison, New Jersey, but the first year still left his mark. The Brooklyn product led all players with 11 kills, 14.5 points and two blocks, while hitting positive for the sixth straight match to start his SLC career. Cahill also added two blocks in the match as the Gryphons and Rangers went to four sets. Cahill and the Gryphons will return to the Campbell Sports Center on Friday, February 13th for a doubleheader against Fisher College.
