BRONXVILLE, N.Y. — SEPT. 18, 2026 — Sarah Lawrence College Athletics has announced the appointment of
Gianluca Orsini as interim head coach of the Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer program.
Orsini brings extensive coaching experience at the collegiate, professional academy and youth levels, along with a strong background in player development and tactical education. He most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach with Barry University's NCAA Division II men's soccer program during the 2023-24 season.
Orsini currently serves as the U19 MLS NEXT Head Coach at FA Euro New York, a position he has held since 2025. Prior to that, he served as the club's U17 NAL & RAL head coach during the 2024-25 season.
His coaching career also includes extensive experience in Italy and the United States. Orsini has held head coaching positions with AS Roma, Frosinone Calcio, Città di Ciampino and Milan Academy/Lupa Frascati, working with multiple age groups throughout his career. His experience includes coaching at both the elite youth-development and high-performance levels.
During his time with AS Roma, Orsini served as head coach of the club's U17 girls, U14 girls and U11 teams. He also spent multiple seasons with Frosinone Calcio and Frosinone Calcio Academy/Libertas Centocelle, including two seasons as a U19 head coach.
Orsini holds a UEFA A coaching license, as well as certifications in Academy Management and Match Analysis, earned through Coverciano, the Italian Federation Technical Center.
He earned a master's degree in Sport Management from the University of Rome "Foro Italico" in 2018.
Throughout his professional development, Orsini has also observed training environments and met with technical staffs at several of Europe's leading clubs, including Manchester City, FC Barcelona and SS Lazio.
In addition to his coaching career, Orsini has experience as a physical education teacher in Rome, further contributing to his background in education, leadership and athlete development.
Orsini will lead the Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer program beginning with tomorrow's Skyline Conference debut against USMMA at 6:00 p.m.
The Gryphons currently sit at 1-2-3 on the year.
