2016: Skyline Academic Honor Roll … Skyline All-Sportsmanship Team … received team Coaches Award … ran in all nine races of season … posted season-best 8K time of 29:34 at Skyline Championship (Oct. 30) … finished as the squad’s top runner at Baruch Invitational (Sept. 4) … recorded season-best overall finish (13th) at NYIT Invitational (Sept. 17) … finished career as No. 3 Gryphon on SLC all-time 8K list and No. 3 on 5K list.

2015: Skyline Academic Honor Roll … received team Coaches Award … ran in seven races … finished as team’s No. 2 runner in every race … consistently ran between 31:30 and 33:00 in six of seven competitions … opened season with time of 32:42 at Baruch Invitational (Sept. 7) … ran season-best of 30:36 at Bard Invitational (Sept. 19) … finished season with 24th-place run of 31:53 at Skyline Championship (Oct. 25).

2014: Skyline All-Sportsmanship Team … Skyline Academic Honor Roll … received team Coaches Award … one of team’s top two runners in all nine races, including two team-leading runs … ran career best 8K of 29:06 at Bard Invitational (Sept. 20), moving to No. 2 in the program record book … set program Van Courtland Park 8K course record of 29:54 at CCNY Classic (Oct. 12) … led the team and ran career best 5K of 19:04, third fastest in team history, at Nick Russo Classic (Nov. 2).

2013: HVIAC All-Conference … Coach’s Award recipient … No. 2 Gryphon finisher in four of the year’s meets … ran in six races … ran season and career best of 29:57 at HVIAC Championship (10/20), finishing as the top Gryphon and 16th overall.

Off the Trail: Concentrating in education and writing … also studying literature, psychology and Spanish … member of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

High School: Four-year member of cross country and track & field teams.

Personal: Son of Donald Newsom … plans to be a high-school English teacher.
