Krishna Dass

Krishna Dass is currently in her second year as head coach of the Sarah Lawrence College women’s volleyball program. In addition to her head coach responsibilities, she serves as the Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator.
 
In just two season at the helm of the women’s volleyball program at Sarah Lawrence College, the team has made tremendous progress. In the 2012 Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Championship, the Gryphons captured the tournament title, finishing the season with a program-high 19 wins. She was also named HVWAC Coach of the Year.
 
Dass also served as head coach of the Sarah Lawrence men’s volleyball team in 2012.
 
Dass came to Sarah Lawrence after serving as the head coach of women’s volleyball at City College of New York from 2007-10. In 2009, Dass led her Beavers to victory in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament, earning a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship. Her 2008 regular-season champion squad qualified for the ECAC South Division Tournament.
 
Dass also spent four seasons at the helm of the Baruch College women’s volleyball program. There, she led the Bearcats to two CUNYAC Tournament championship matches, winning regular-season and championship titles in 2005. Including her years at CCNY, she was named CUNYAC Coach of the Year on four occasions (2002, ’05, ’07, ’08).
 
Dass began her coaching career at her alma mater, Hunter College. She spent two seasons as the Hawks’ assistant women’s volleyball coach, helping the squad to back-to-back CUNYAC titles and NCAA Championship berths.
 
As a player, Dass was an invaluable member of the Hunter program. She was named CUNYAC Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Year in 1994 before being recognized as CUNYAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Year in ’96 and ’97.
 
Dass graduated from Hunter College with a B.A. in economics and completed a M.S.E.d. in Recreation & Parks Administration from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York.
