Matt Lonski was named Sarah Lawrence College crew Head Coach in February 2016.
In his first semester at the helm of the Gryphons' program, Lonski coached Sarah Lawrence to a pair of fourth-place finishes at the 2016 MIRA Spring Championships. Five team members earned Sarah Lawrence All-Academic recognition for their work in the classroom.
Before SLC, Lonski brought five years of experience coaching at various levels. Since 2011, he has coached in New York and Connecticut, instructing rowers ranging from elementary students through masters levels.
As a student-athlete, Lonski competed at Greenwich High School and went on to be an NCAA Division I rower at Columbia University for three seasons. He has competed in numerous top-level regattas and competitions, including the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship, Head of the Charles, Royal Canadian Henley and C.R.A.S.H.-B. Sprints.
Lonski graduated from Columbia in 2014 and spent a year working for a non-profit organization serving veterans in Santa Cruz, Calif.
