Dolores Diemicke joins the women's soccer staff in 2018 as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach.
Diemicke joins the Gryphons following a stint with the New York Soccer Club of the Women’s Premier Soccer League. She was the starting goalkeeper for the squad, helping the team reach the Metropolitan Championship game.
A native of North Massapequa, N.Y., Diemicke is a 2016 graduate of nearby Manhattanville College, where she was a three-year MAC Academic Honor Roll member while double majoring in communications and sport studies. She will graduate this May with a Master’s Degree in Sports Business Management.
Diemicke was a four-year starter in net for the Valiants, and graduated fourth all-time in minutes among goalkeepers (5,845.32), fifth in saves (496) and goals against average (2.05), sixth in wins (15) and shutouts (8), and seventh in save percentage (.789). She was a two-time All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention and an All-MAC Freedom Second Team honoree in 2014.
Diemicke was a two-sport athlete in college, also competing on the school’s softball team, where she was a four-year all-conference performer, guiding the Valiants to three consecutive MAC Freedom Tournament titles and three trips to the NCAA Tournament.
“I am very excited to welcome Dolores to our Sarah Lawrence Women’s Soccer family,” said Grillo, who just finished his first season with the Gryphons. “Dolores will be a tremendous asset to the program. She brings great energy, and her experience at both the collegiate and professional level will be very valuable to our team. I look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make on the lives of our student-athletes as well as the greater Sarah Lawrence community.”
