Milta Gonzalez

Milta Gonzalez is a New York - based volleyball coach with a broad background in high school, club, and collegiate volleyball. She currently serves as the Head Coach for Preston High School’s JV (2025) and Varsity teams (2024–2025). 

Gonzalez began her coaching career at Legacy Volleyball Club, initially joining as a National Team Assistant Coach. By the 2022 season, she advanced to a head coaching role and went on to coach across four seasons (2020 - 2024). She later coached the Holy Child 8th grade team (2023) and spent a season with Chelsea Piers Volleyball Club (2024 - 2025).  

In 2024, Gonzalez returned to her alma mater, Preston High School, to lead the Varsity program. In 2025, she guided the team to a 13 - 4 record and a CHSAA Finals appearance. Across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, her athletes earned 10 total CHSAA All-League honors, including the CHSAA Player of the League and CHSAA Bronx Player of the Year in 2025.  

Gonzalez has coached multiple athletes who have continued on to compete in collegiate volleyball, including programs across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III.  

As a player, she competed collegiately as a libero, beginning her career at Manhattanville College (2017) before joining Monroe University’s NJCAA Division I program (2019). In high school, she was a two-time CHSAA All-League Second Team honoree (2015 & 2016) and remains Preston High School’s career digs record holder, with 1,271 digs in three varsity seasons.  

Gonzalez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Monroe University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
