Sean Clores is in his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Gryphons, where he is involved in all aspects of the program, primarily recruiting, scouting, and game preparation. He was part of the 2024-25 Coaching Staff of the Year, which led the Gryphons to their best two-year stretch in program history (32 wins). Last season, the team won the Skyline Gold Division and advanced to the Skyline Semifinals, finishing with 18 wins.
Prior to joining the Gryphons, Clores was the Head Men's Basketball Coach at The City College of New York. During his tenure, he played a key role in developing the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year and led the team to wins over Division II-bound College of Staten Island and CUNYAC champions Brooklyn College. The team was also recognized by the NABC for academic excellence.
Before CCNY, Clores was on staff at Division II powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas during their 2018-19 season, where the team was ranked #12 nationally with a 25-7 record and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. He helped develop three All-Conference players.
He began his collegiate coaching career at John Jay College from 2015-18. As a key part of the recruiting efforts, Clores helped bring in 18 student-athletes, including two CUNY Rookie of the Year winners. The team improved each season, advancing to the CUNYAC semifinals in 2015.
Clores started his coaching career at Fairfield Prep High School (CT) and later coached at Black River High School in Jamaica, West Indies, while working for Passionist Volunteers International. He continues to use basketball to create opportunities for students in Jamaica through the Grow Your Game Basketball Camp, which he founded in 2022.
A graduate of Fairfield University with a B.A. in Communications, Clores also holds a Master's in Education from Molloy University. He teaches physical education at Convent of the Sacred Heart School and lives with his family in New York City.
