Cross-country runner Katherine Shepard was SLC's No. 2 runner at the College of Staten Island Invitational on Sunday. She stopped the clock at 22:36.1, earning a 22nd-place finish in the field of over 160 runners. Shepard's effort lifted the Gryphons to a fifth-place finish among 19 teams and was the best finish among Skyline Conference rookies in the race. She has been among the SLC's top three in each of the squad's four races this season.

For her efforts, Shepard was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week
