Chris Manfugas (Teaneck, N.J., Teaneck) was selected as the season's first HVMAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week honoree after he anchored the Gryphon defense last week. The first-year player led the team in digs in both matches of Sunday's tri-match. Against Yeshiva, he had 14 digs, while he added another 13 digs against Berkeley.

With 3.38 digs/set on the day, Manfugas improved his average to over 2 digs/set on the year. He also contributed seven kills and two service aces on the day.
