Women's Crew Rows in Navy Day Regatta

Race Results

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—On Saturday, Sarah Lawrence College women's crew traveled to the Keystone State to compete in the 2014 Navy Day Regatta, hosted by St. Joseph's University on the Schuylkill River.

SLC entered one boat in the regatta, racing in the Collegiate 4+. The Gryphons squared off against tough competition, including Division I powerhouses, Pennsylvania, Temple and the host Hawks.

Despite relatively smooth water, conditions were far from ideal, as rain and chilly weather challenged all the teams.

UPenn fielded three of the top four boats in the event, taking both of the top two spots. Sarah Lawrence placed 23rd in the field, completing the course in 20:08.

The Gryphons return to action in two weeks when Sarah Lawrence competes at the Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday, Oct. 25. SLC then takes part in its home regatta, the 2014 Fall MIRA Championships on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Glen Island Park.
