WEST POINT, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College women's crew kicked off the 2014-15 season by rowing at the West Point Head Race, hosted by the West Point Crew Team on Sunday.
Rowing in the women's varsity 4+, the Gryphons took on NCAA Division I opponents from Iona College and Fairfield University, as well as club squads from Army, Fordham and NYU.
Water conditions were challenging at times, owing to heavy ship traffic on the Hudson River. Steady winds and gusts up to 20 mph added an additional challenge, but the Green and White successfully represented the College.
Sarah Lawrence next competes at the Navy Day Regatta, hosted by St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pa., on Saturday, Oct. 11.
