Jeff Jordan II (Smithfield, Va., Smithfield)
scored a career high 10 points en route to his first collegiate double-double as Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball was upended by College of Mount Saint Vincent, 93-66, in a Skyline game at the Peter Jay Sharp Center on Saturday.
On the opening possession, Sarah Lawrence (1-6, 0-2 Skyline) scored on a jumper by sophomore co-captain
Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) to take an early lead. Rookie
Malin Segal (Marblehead, Mass./Concord Academy) added a three-pointer to put the Gryphons in front, 5-3, before the Dolphins took the lead for good.
By the midpoint of the opening half, SLC trailed Mount Saint Vincent (6-0, 2-0 Skyline) by three points, 16-13, but CMSV scored the next dozen points. A last-second jumper gave the home team a 29-point advantage at the intermission.
Sarah Lawrence made 45 percent of its field goals in the second half, outscoring Mount Saint Vincent, 39-37, but was unable to overcome the deficit.
Jordan's 10 points accompanied his team-high 12 rebounds to give the Gryphons their first double-double of the season. With 11 points, Segal reached double-digits and led the team for the fourth time this season.
The SLC career blocks leader, Gilleran scored 10 points, corralled seven rebounds and swatted a season-high three shots.

Stevan Radosavljevic (Lazarevac, Serbia/Grammar School Lazarevac) and rookie
Glenn Forstner (Great Neck, N.Y./Great Neck South) each contributed half a dozen points, while sophomore
Ege Ozcan (Istanbul, Turkey/Andrews Osborne Acad. (Ohio)) tallied six rebounds with five points.
Sarah Lawrence concludes the semester with a home game against Connecticut College on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. The Gryphons then return to action on Jan. 3, 2015, at St. Joseph's College Long Island.
