LEWISBERRY, Pa.—Sarah Lawrence College women's crew concluded the 2013-14 season at a pair of regattas in April. After participating in the Kerr Cup Invitational on April 19, the Gryphons competed in the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships at Gifford Pinchot State Park on April 26.
At the Kerr Cup, the Gryphons entered one boat. The SLC varsity 4+ took sixth place in its heat and 11th overall with a time of 8:36.86.
The Green and White fielded two boats at the MARC Championships, including a Novice 4+ and Varsity 4+. The varsity Gryphons began the day with a stellar race in their heat. SLC crossed the line in third place (9:28.3), punching a ticket to the afternoon's grand final.
In the Novice race, SLC stayed with the pack but was eventually overcome. The Gryphons' time of 10:08.3 was good enough for fourth place in the heat and seventh overall.
SLC's varsity boat returned to the water in the final, and despite rough rowing conditions, posted a sixth-place time of 10:20.53.
