Box Score 2 MORRISTOWN, N.J.—Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball continued its 2014 campaign with losses to College of Saint Elizabeth and William Paterson University on Saturday.
Sarah Lawrence (1-4) picked up 14 points in the opening set against Saint Elizabeth (7-2), but the Eagles responded to take the match in straight sets, 25-14, 25-9, 25-9.
SLC also faced a tough opponent in undefeated William Paterson (7-0). The Pioneers took the match, 25-7, 25-7, 25-8.
For the Gryphons, sophomore
Yolanda Lyne Cando (Arlington, Va./H-B Woodlawn) led the offense with six kills on the day. Rookie
Lenie Siegel (Huntington Woods, Mich./Berkley) and senior
Xina Graham-Vannais (Newtown, Pa./George School) tallied four kills apiece. On defense, libero
Lin Zhu (Chengdu, China/Chengdu No. 7) totaled 20 digs, while setter
Clarisse Taboy (Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia/George School) contributed 13 digs, nine assists and three service aces.
Sarah Lawrence next travels to New York University for the 2014 Violet Classic on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19-20.
