Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball was defeated by The College of New Rochelle, 3-0, in a non-conference match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Wednesday.
Sarah Lawrence (1-8) kept pace early with its former HVIAC foe, but New Rochelle (12-4) pulled away for the straight-set victory.
In the opening set, SLC's seniors anchored the offense.
Xina Graham-Vannais (Newtown, Pa./George School) racked up three kills in the set, while
Alexis Chapman (Bend, Ore./Bend) pitched in a kill and two service aces. The Green and White led early, 5-4, and stayed within reach at 10-9 before CNR rattled off five of the next six points.
After the Blue Angels took the first set 25-14, the visitors remained in full control.
On defense, rookie libero
Lin Zhu (Chengdu, China/Chengdu No. 7) tallied five digs, while Graham-Vannais totaled four.
Sarah Lawrence travels to NJCU on Saturday to face the Gothic Knights and Medgar Evers College in a tri-match beginning at 11 a.m.
