ROOKIE PACESETTERSLC first year
Zack Roccaforte (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) was the Gryphons' top runner for the sixth straight race. He cracked the top 20, placing 19th with a run of 31:30. Roccaforte's time was a minute slower than his season best but 38 seconds faster than his previous run on the course on October 3.
NEWSOM REMAINS CONSISTENTJunior
Pat Newsom (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) has been SLC's No. 2 runner in every race this season. He trailed Roccaforte by five places, crossing the line in 31:53, good for 24th place. Newsom's time was identical to his run at the CCNY Classic and was 34 seconds faster than his previous effort on the championship course.
SOPHOMORE SPEEDSophomores
Ari Runanin-Telle (Fairfax, Va./Sir Francis Drake) and
Daniel Higinbotham (Alpharetta, Ga./Homeschooled) crossed the line separated by 0.6 second. The duo placed 43rd and 44th, respectively, with an identical 33:57 performance. Runanin-Telle's mark was a collegiate best, two seconds faster than his previous mark.
GRYPHONS PLACE EIGHTHVili Lehmann Boddicker (Encino, Calif./L.A. County HS for the Arts) was the Gryphons' critical No. 5 runner for the third-straight race. His time of 36:14 was slower than his personal best but still more than two minutes better than his season debut. Lehmann Boddicker earned 64th place overall. After missing three races, senior
Caleb Jaster (New Hampton, N.H./Sant Bani) returned to the trail for his first Skyline Championship. Jaster placed 70th in 37:24. SLC's finish matches its eighth-place standing in the program's Skyline debut in 2014.
UP NEXTSarah Lawrence will have a tune-up race on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the NJIT Russo Classic. The Gryphons round out the season at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championship on November 14.
