NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes
Autumn Atkinson (Manasquan, N.J./George School) and
CJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic) have been honored by the Skyline Conference as weekly award winners, as announced by the league on Monday.
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEKAutumn Atkinson (Manasquan, N.J./George School)Atkinson played a leading role in SLC's 8-1 victory over The Sage Colleges on Saturday. Playing at No. 2 singles, the senior Gryphon won her match, 6-2, 6-0, to record her fifth win in the last six matches. Along with partner
Juliet Slade (St. Paul, Minn./Central), Atkinson won the No. 2 doubles match, 8-2. As a partnership, Atkinson and Slade improved to 30-5, becoming the first-ever SLC players to hit 30 doubles wins. Atkinson was previously named to the Skyline Honor Roll on Sept. 21, and her selection follows that of teammate
Sarah Fiordaliso (Buffalo, N.Y./Sweet Home), who was named Player of the Week on Sept. 8.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEKCJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic)Kelley was two kills shy of a quadruple-double in the Gryphons' four-set triumph over conference foe Purchase College. The Las Vegas native recorded eight kills, 21 assists, 11 aces and 12 digs in the contest, all career bests. Her 11 service aces are a new program record, and she became the first Gryphon to ever record a triple-double. Kelley leads the team in aces, digs, blocks and assists this season.
