BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Sarah Lawrence College Athletics has announced the appointment of Hannah Hirst as its new Sports Information Director, effective August 2026.
"We are thrilled to welcome Hannah to Sarah Lawrence College and have her lead our sports information efforts. Her energy, expertise, and commitment to telling the stories of our student-athletes will be a tremendous asset to the Gryphons and our entire athletics community," said Kristin Maile, Director of Athletics at Sarah Lawrence College.
Hirst joins the Gryphons with nearly a decade of experience in athletics communications and game operations, including positions at New Jersey City University (NJCU), William Paterson University, and Ramapo College of New Jersey. Her experience encompasses athletic communications, digital content, statistics, broadcasts, website management, social media, media relations, and gameday operations.
Most recently, Hirst served as the Assistant Athletics Communications Director at New Jersey City University (NJCU), where she oversaw game coverage, statistics, digital content, social media, website updates, and home event operations, including broadcasts. Hirst also maintained program records and assisted with media days, student worker training, and roster management.
Her experience working in Division III athletics at NJCU provides a strong foundation as she transitions to Sarah Lawrence and takes on a broader role in promoting and telling the stories of Gryphons student-athletes.
While completing her master's degree, Hirst served as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant at William Paterson University from 2022-24. She served as the primary communications contact for assigned sports and club teams, overseeing game coverage, statistics, social media, website updates, and broadcasts. She also maintained program and conference records and assisted with award nominations and NCAA roster and schedule management.
Hirst also served as a Sports Information Assistant at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she assisted with home event operations, broadcasts, statistics, public address duties, and game staff supervision. Hirst began her athletics communications career at Ramapo, serving as a Sports Information Student Assistant from 2018-20. In the role, she assisted with broadcasts and in-game statistics, traveled with the basketball teams for scorekeeping, and helped promote home events and halftime programming across campus.
Hirst also gained experience at the conference and national levels while at William Paterson, working at the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship and the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, both held at Barclays Center. Her responsibilities included supervising press row, distributing media credentials, preparing media areas, and assisting with postgame press conferences.
Hirst earned her Master of Science in Sports Administration from William Paterson University in 2024 and her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2020.
In her new role, Hirst will oversee athletic communications for the Gryphons, including game coverage, statistics, website management, social media, media relations, and gameday operations.
Sarah Lawrence Athletics welcomes Hirst to the department and looks forward to her contributions to the continued growth, promotion, and visibility of Gryphons athletics.
