Men's Basketball Hosts Knights of MSMC

Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In the Gryphons' penultimate home game of the season, Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball was defeated by Mount Saint Mary College, 75-52, in a Skyline game at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Wednesday.

Mount Saint Mary (7-15, 6-9 Skyline) led from start to finish, though Sarah Lawrence (1-20, 0-15 Skyline) was able to tie the score on three occasions. The latest deadlock came after a three-pointer by rookie Keith Burns (Belmont, Mass./Belmont), leveling the game at 7-7. MSMC scored the next five points and never relinquished the lead.

By halftime, SLC held the game within reach, trailing 35-27. Burns led the Green and White with nine points on three field goals from beyond the arc. Sophomore Jeff Jordan II (Smithfield, Va., Smithfield) also had a positive first half, scoring seven points while dishing out three assists.

The Knights scored the first field goal after the intermission and held a double-digit advantage for most of the second period. Burns sank a trey with 17 minutes to go, cutting the deficit to seven points before MSMC scored the next eight points.

With 11 minutes to go, Mat Gerak (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) converted a jumper to keep the Green and White in the game, 54-45. From there, the Knights went on a 15-1 run that iced the game for the visitors.

Stevan Radosavljevic (Lazarevac, Serbia/Grammar School Lazarevac) scored 10 points in the second half and led the team with 14 points on the day. Reeling in nine rebounds, the sophomore finished one board away from his 16th career double-double.

Jordan contributed five points in the second period to finish with an even dozen; he added five rebounds, and his five assists marked a new career best. Burns matched the team's season-high with four three-point field goals, scoring 12 points to go with four rebounds and a pair of assists.

Under the glass, captain Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) collected five rebounds, while rookie Andre Garibaldi (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) had four rebounds and four points.

For MSMC, Tyler McDine scored a game-high 19 points, shooting 9-for-13 from the floor while handing out nine assists. Alex Smith had a double-double on 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Daniel Wolff scored 11 points.

Sarah Lawrence next plays its final road Skyline games of the season, travelling to Farmingdale State on Saturday before heading to Yeshiva on Tuesday. The Gryphons host their final Skyline game of their inaugural season in the league, taking on Sage on Thursday, Feb. 19.
