SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College crew completed the 2014-15 season by competing in a pair of head-to-head dual races. On Tuesday, April 21, the Gryphons squared off against NCAA Division I Iona College, and on Sunday, April 26, SLC traveled to compete against Union College.
Against Iona, the Green and White boat took an early lead and stayed close with Iona through the first 250 meters. Over the second half of the race, the Gaels pulled away, securing victory in the short sprint. Coxswain
Anh Le (Hanoi, Vietnam/Susan E. Wagner (N.Y.)) made her career debut steering the boat and handled it well.
In Sunday's finale at Union, the Gryphons stayed with Union for the majority of the race. Sophomore
Faith Cody (Pocatello, Idaho/Highland) helmed the boat this time, steering a near-perfect line.
"This was a good way to end the season," reported Head Coach Brittany Aiello. "Both were great days to race, and we competed against great hosts. I am very proud of our women."
