Old Westbury controlled the second half, shooting 19 for 33 (.576) in the period. The Gryphon shooters posted a respectable total of 14 for 33 (.424) in the period. Ozcan and Jones both scored seven points in the half, while Hagmaier had six points and a half a dozen rebounds. OW blew open the game, 73-43, though the Green and White closed out the game on a 14-6 run over the final three and a half minutes.
GRYPHON LEADERSHagmaier finished the game with 13 points and 14 rebounds, including 11 defensive boards. His double-double was his second in the last four games, and he has reached double-figures in rebounds in four of his last five. Jones totaled 11 points, his second highest scoring output of the season. In addition to his 4-for-5 shooting, the rookie led the Gryphons with three assists and two steals.
FOR OLD WESTBURYJamail Stanley and P.J. Page each scored a game-high 21 points, while Stanley tallied 11 rebounds for his fourth-straight double-double. Stephon Odle scored 13 points and dished four assists.
UP NEXTSarah Lawrence begins its final stretch of play with four straight home games. The Gryphons take on Farmingdale State College on Wednesday before hosting Yeshiva University (Feb. 9), Mount Saint Mary College (Feb. 11) and College of Mount Saint Vincent (Feb. 17).
