Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball saw its eight-match home winning snapped in nail-biter fashion when the Gryphons fell to Brooklyn College, 3-2, in a non-conference match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Thursday.

KEY MOMENTS
Sarah Lawrence took an 8-3 lead in the opening set, but Brooklyn responded with a streak of nine straight points to take the opening set handily. The Gryphons held their largest lead of the second set at 18-11 before the Bulldogs chipped away and tied the frame at 24-24. Rookie
Ellen Vild (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) landed back-to-back kills to close out the set, 26-24, and tie the match at one set apiece.
Brooklyn opened up a 10-3 advantage in the third set, and the Gryphons retaliated to slice the deficit to three at 19-16. BC outscored SLC two-to-one down the stretch to earn the 25-19 victory. Momentum swung back in the Gryphons' favor in set four. Sarah Lawrence built up a 14-5 advantage and capitalized on 16 Brooklyn errors to win, 25-19, and tie the match at 2-2.
In the decisive set, Brooklyn scored the first four points and never relinquished the lead. Neither offense succeeded in breaking through until the Bulldogs scored kills on their final three points to clinch victory for the visitors.
LEADING GRYPHONS

Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) amassed 21 digs in the match, second-most in program history and the team's highest total in a five-set match. Vild led the team with seven kills, contributing 14 digs on defense. Sophomore setter
CJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic) posted a double-double with 24 assists, 17 digs, six kills and two blocks. Senior

Kayla Zaffrullah (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast) reached double-digits with 11 digs, as did senior
Clarisse Taboy (Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia/George School) with 14 digs, four kills and a match-high three service aces. Senior
Yolanda Lyne Cando (Arlington, Va./H-B Woodlawn) recorded six kills in the match.
IN THE RECORD BOOK
The Gryphons' 170 total attack attempts are the team's most on record, while their defensive effort of 79 total digs also broke the program record. Sarah Lawrence's last five-set loss was against Yeshiva University in the team's 2014 season finale.
