Box Score 2 BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In the Gryphons' final home matches of the season, Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball hosted U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and Farmingdale State College in a Skyline tri-match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Saturday.
IN SHORT

SENIOR DAY
After the matches, Sarah Lawrence honored its five graduating seniors:
Yolanda Lyne Cando (Arlington, Va./H-B Woodlawn),
Marie Richter (Chemnitz, Germany/St. Andrew's School (Fla.)),
Clarisse Taboy (Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia/George School),
Monet Thibou (Brooklyn, N.Y./Elisabeth Irwin), and
Lin Zhu (Chengdu, China/Chengdu No. 7). Among them, they represent multiple Skyline academic accolades, while Cando, Thibou and Taboy are the top three Gryphons to have played the most matches in program history.
AGAINST MERCHANT MARINE
Rookies
Cat Ramey (Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road Academy) and
Francesca Kohani (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) led the Gryphons with five kills apiece in the match, while first year
Ellen Vild (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) and Cando both recorded a pair of kills. Ramey and rookie
Kayla Zaffrullah (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast) each had service aces in the match, and sophomore
CJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic) had 14 assists and a block. Libero
Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) anchored the defense with 10 digs, while Kelly contributed seven of her own.
AGAINST FARMINGDALE STATE
Sarah Lawrence kept the margin manageable, trailing the Rams, 16-14, in the opening set. Farmingdale caught fire and closed out the frame, 25-17. The Gryphons led early in the second set, 6-2, before momentum swung back in the Rams' favor. The third set was in reach with Sarah Lawrence trailing 11-9, but Farmingdale pulled away for good to round out the 3-0 sweep. Kohani led the Gryphons again, this time with 12 kills and two service aces. Ramey and Cando both landed three kills. Kelly had 17 assists and two blocks, while Kohani and Thibou also shared a block. On defense, Kilroy again led the team, this time with 17 digs; Kohani, Zaffrullah and Taboy contributed five digs each.
UP NEXT
Sarah Lawrence concludes the season on the road on Saturday, October 29. The Gryphons travel to The Sage Colleges to face the host Gators and St. Joseph's College Long Island in a Skyline tri-match. The Gryphons will need to win both matches and secure help from other results to keep their postseason hopes alive.
