Box Score 2 NEWBURGH, N.Y.—Three team records were broken as Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball split a pair of Skyline matches at Kaplan Recreation Center on Saturday. The Gryphons defeated St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 3-1, before falling to host Mount Saint Mary College by an identical margin.

AGAINST ST. JOSEPH'S

Cat Ramey (Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road Academy) served four quick aces to build a quick 7-0 lead for the Gryphons, and St. Joseph's never closed the gap below five points as Sarah Lawrence took the set comfortably. In the second set, first-year hitter
Francesca Kohani (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) served out the final seven points of a 25-16 set, contributing three aces and two kills. The Gryphons lost control briefly in the third set, when St. Joseph's erased a 10-1 deficit and took a 17-15 edge. With the set tied 19-19, St. Joseph's scored five straight points, but the Gryphons rallied to win the next five in a row. SJC scored back-to-back points to close out the third, forcing a fourth set.
In the fourth, Sarah Lawrence held a slim 12-10 advantage before kicking into high gear to win the set and clinch the match, 25-13. Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) set a team record with 25 digs. First year
Kayla Zaffrullah (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast) also reached double-digits with 12 digs, and setter
CJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic) broke the third team record with 39 assists in the match. The victory snaps a six-match losing streak to St. Joseph's, giving the Gryphons their first win in the series since 2010.
AGAINST MOUNT SAINT MARY
In the opening set, the Gryphons trailed the Knights by five points at 6-1 and later at 12-7. Kohani had three kills as Ramey served Sarah Lawrence to a 6-0 run and a 13-12 edge. Kelley served the Green and White to five-straight points for a 21-18 lead, and the Gryphons closed out a 25-23 win in the opening set. The Knights took set two, 25-16, and the Gryphons nearly rallied from a six-point hole to win set three. Kohani again led all players, this time with 16 kills in the match.
