AGAINST ST. JOSEPH'S

In the second set, first-year hitter Francesca Kohani (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) served out the final seven points of a 25-16 set, contributing three aces and two kills. The Gryphons lost control briefly in the third set, when St. Joseph's erased a 10-1 deficit and took a 17-15 edge. With the set tied 19-19, St. Joseph's scored five straight points, but the Gryphons rallied to win the next five in a row. SJC scored back-to-back points to close out the third, forcing a fourth set.

In the fourth, Sarah Lawrence held a slim 12-10 advantage before kicking into high gear to win the set and clinch the match, 25-13. Kohani led the Gryphons with a team-record 21 kills, completing a double-double with 14 digs and five aces. Ramey finished with nine kills and 15 digs, while on defense, rookie Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) set a team record with 25 digs. First year Kayla Zaffrullah (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast) also reached double-digits with 12 digs, and setter CJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic) broke the third team record with 39 assists in the match.
