BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sophomore
Gabriel Eng (Brooklyn, N.Y./The Beacon School) led the Gryphons with 19 points, lifting Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball to a 78-65 win over St. Joseph's Brooklyn in Skyline action at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Tuesday.

The teams fought through three early ties, and St. Joseph's took an early 13-9 advantage after six minutes of play. From there, the Gryphons dominated the game with a 19-3 run to go in front, 28-16. Senior
Jeff Jordan II (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) scored six points during the span, while junior
Malin Segal (Wenham, Mass./Concord Academy) added a pair of field goals for five points. By halftime, Sarah Lawrence had built a 38-29 advantage, led by Jordan's eight points and Segal's seven in the period.

Mat Gerak (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) scored the first points of the second half, and fellow captain
Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) added a three-pointer. Two minutes into the period, the Gryphons held a 45-29 lead. Over the next seven minutes, the Bears crept back into contention with a 14-5 rally, closing the gap to 50-43.
Eng converted on a three-pointer to kick start a 17-5 run for the Gryphons that concluded with another Eng trey and a layup by rookie
BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep), expanding the lead to 19 points, 67-48.
Down the stretch, St. Joseph's fought to rally but were unable to threaten the Gryphons' victory. Eng added two more three pointers late in the game to give the team it's largest lead, 78-55. In the end, Sarah Lawrence came away with its sixth victory of the season, the team's most in three seasons in the Skyline.

Eng anchored the team with 19 points including five three-pointers. Reigning Skyline Rookie of the Week Sanders notched his second straight double-double and fourth of the season; he totaled 10 points and 14 rebounds. Rookie
Joseph Kleeman (Greenwood Village, Colo./Arapahoe) scored eight points in the second half to finish with 13, and Jordan finished with 12 points. Sophomore
Austin Jones (Upper Marlboro, Md./Flint Hill School) contributed six points, and classmate
Parker Hagmaier (Oakland, Calif./Bishop O'Dowd) added a successful three-point attempt.
