BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team defeated Purchase College 3-1 Thursday at Noyes Court.

KEY MOMENTS
In the opening set, the Gryphons raced out to a 9-2 lead and did not look back, winning the set 25-17 and taking a 1-0 series edge. Sarah Lawrence cruised to a 25-12 victory in the second game, jumping out to an 8-1 advantage while scoring the last four points of the set.
Facing elimination, the Panthers scored the first four points of the third game, jumping out to an 11-4 lead. Following a timeout, the Gryphons scored six unanswered, forcing Purchase to call a timeout of its own. Tied at 17, the Panthers scored three straight points to take the lead for good and force a fourth set. Purchase looked poised to force a fifth game, holding a 24-17 lead. Sarah Lawrence rallied back, scoring nine consecutive points to end the set and complete the series win.
Melanie Coleman (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) finished with a game-high 16 kills and five service aces.
Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) posted 22 assists while
Camryn Sanchez (El Cernito, Calif./Albany HS) totaled 20 digs.
Sarah Lawrence is 4-1 in four-set contests this season. With the victory, the Gryphons tie a program-record for conference victories in a campaign.
