BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team dropped a pair of Skyline contests Saturday, falling to Merchant Marine and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn at The Hill Center.

AGAINST MERCHANT MARINE
Merchant Marine raced out to a 9-1 lead in the opening game and led by as many as 12 points en route to taking a 1-0 series lead. The Mariners continued their offensive attack in the second game, jumping out to a 17-2 advantage and not looking back. Merchant Marine completed the series sweep, taking the third set, 25-12.
Melanie Coleman (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) finished with six kills and six digs, while
Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) tallied 11 assists.
AGAINST ST. JOSEPH'S-BROOKLYN
Trailing 20-13 in the opening set, the Gryphons used a 6-1 spurt to get within one. St. Joseph's countered with four straight points to take the game and a 1-0 series edge.
In the second game, the Bears scored the first seven points of the set and led by a 13-1 margin en route to taking a 2-1 series advantage. Facing a sweep, the Gryphons held a 23-20 lead in the third set. The Bears battled back to take the game, finishing the set on a 7-2 run.
Coleman finished with 12 kills, while Kilroy posted 16 assists, 15 digs and three aces.
