Women’s Volleyball Drops 3-1 Contest at Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 non-conference matchup Friday at Brooklyn College.

KEY MOMENTS
The Bulldogs opened the first game with seven consecutive points to lead from the start and take a 1-0 series lead. Sarah Lawrence tied the series in the second game. The Gryphons held a 24-20 advantage, but watched their lead shrink to one point, before Helen Song (Shenzhen, China/Shenzhen Foreign Language) posted a kill to give Sarah Lawrence the second-set victory.

The Gryphons opened up an 8-6 edge in the third game, but Brooklyn countered with a 15-3 spurt to take a 21-11 lead en route to taking a 2-1 series advantage. In the fourth set, Brooklyn raced out to a 16-6 lead en route to winning the non-conference series.

Francesca LaRocca (Annapolis, Md./South River) paced the Gryphons with 13 kills, while Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) finished with 26 assists and Lucy DeCarlo (New York, N.Y./The Calhoun School) recorded 22 digs.
