Women’s Swimming Defeats Old Westbury and St. Joseph’s Brooklyn on Senior Day

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College women's swim team defeated Old Westbury (129-56) and St. Joseph's Brooklyn (119-62) on Senior Day Saturday at Campbell Sports Center.

GRYPHON VICTORIES
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) was the top swimmer in the 200 yard freestyle, touching the wall in 2:09.78. Lawson also finished second in the 100 yard freestyle (1:00.84).

Naima Mackrel (Woodstock, N.Y./Kingston) posted victories in the 50 yard freestyle (25.94) and 100 yard backstroke (1:01.76).

Andrea Corbin (Eugene, Ore./Henry D. Sheldon) was the top performer in the 200 yard IM, finishing the race in 2:34.74. The first-year also finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.64.

Devon Peal (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) earned first-place in the 100 yard butterfly (1:09.90), while finishing as the runner-up in the 200 yard freestyle (2:15.55).

TOP GRYPHON PERFORMANCES
Kaitie Dilan (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) posted a runner-up effort in the 1,000 yard freestyle (15:14.55), while Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento) placed second in the 50 yard freestyle (28.81) and 100 yard backstroke (1:10.61).

Caitie Adler (Pikesville, Md./Wilde Lake) finished in second-place in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:37.75, while Olivia Hoefling (Sarasota, Fla./Sarasota) finished third in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:06.02 and fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:24.50.

GRYPHON RELAYS
In the 200 yard freestyle relay, a foursome comprised of Lawson, Peal, Corbin and Mackrel took first-place with a mark of 1:52.24, 14 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.

A quartet made up of Kroll, Hoefling, Adler and Lila Brustad (Navarre, Fla./Home School ) finished second in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:15.82.
