COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball team concluded play at the 2017 Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic Saturday with a 71-51 loss at Colorado College at Reid Arena.

Colorado College opened the game with five straight points, but the Gryphons matched it with five of their own, all scored by
Isaiah Pean (Spring Valley, N.Y./Dwight-Englewood). The Tigers used their three-point shooting and a 5-0 run to take a 16-8 lead (12:14), but Sarah Lawrence continued to battle, using a 9-1 spurt, capped off by a triple from
Malin Segal (Wenham, Mass./Concord Academy), to knot the contest at 17. Colorado College went on to outscore the Gryphons 17-8 over the final 9:49 of the period to take a 34-25 lead into the locker room.
The Tigers began the second half with a 20-4 run to take their largest lead of the contest (52-29). Sarah Lawrence continued to hang around, using a 15-2 spurt to cut the deficit to 10 (54-44). Colorado College pulled away, outscoring the Gryphons 17-7 over the final 9:04 to pick up the victory.
Segal finished with a team-best 13 points, along with five rebounds.
BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) posted his first double-double of the season, recording 10 points and 12 boards. Four Tigers finished in double-figures in the contest.
