OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball team opened up Skyline Conference play Sunday with wins over Old Westbury and Yeshiva in a tri-match at Clark Athletic Center.

AGAINST OLD WESTBURY
The Panthers won the opening set, pulling away late. Trailing 13-10, Old Westbury scored six unanswered points to take the lead for good and pick up the set victory.
Sarah Lawrence came back in the second set and dominated, ending the game with eight straight points to even the series. In the third set, the Gryphons found themselves trailing 16-14, but rallied with 11 consecutive points to take a 2-1 series lead.
The Gryphons raced out to a 7-2 advantage and held an 11-point lead in the fourth set to pick up the series win.
Francesca LaRocca (Annapolis, Md./South River) and Lucy DeCarlo (New York, N.Y./The Calhoun School) each finished with a game-high 13 kills, while Melanie Coleman (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) chipped in with eight. Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) posted a game-high 32 assists while Francesca Kohani (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) recorded 29 digs.
AGAINST YESHIVA
Tied 4-4 in the opening set, the Gryphons finished on a 21-6 run. In the second set, Sarah Lawrence raced out to a 12-8 lead, but Yeshiva countered with an 8-1 spurt. The Gryphons rallied back with a 6-2 run to regain the lead for good. In the third game, the Gryphons jumped out to a 7-2 advantage and built up an eight-point lead en route to completing the series sweep.
LaRocca finished with game-highs in kills (11) and service aces (6). Kilroy posted 20 assists and Kohani collected 12 digs.
