ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team posted a 1-1 record Saturday in a tri-match at Cedar Crest at Lees Gymnasium. The Gryphons defeated Bryn Athyn 3-1 before falling to Cedar Crest, 3-0.

AGAINST BRYN ATHYN
Sarah Lawrence raced out to a 14-4 lead in the opening set and did not look back to take a 1-0 series lead. In the second game, the two teams exchanged runs. Knotted at 18, the Lions scored four consecutive times to take the lead for good and even the series.
Tied 5-5 in the third game, Sarah Lawrence used three unanswered points to control the set en route to building up a 22-16 advantage. The Gryphons ended the set with three straight points to take a 2-1 series advantage. Leading 10-9 in the fourth set, Sarah Lawrence used an 8-1 spurt to build its largest lead of the set en route to clinching the match.
Melanie Coleman (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy), the reigning Skyline Rookie of the Week, paced the Gryphons with a game-high 15 kills, while
Francesca LaRocca (Annapolis, Md./South River) finished with 10.
Lucy DeCarlo (New York, N.Y./The Calhoun School) recorded four service aces to go along with five kills, while
Lauren Kilroy (King of Prussia, Pa./Country Day Sch. of the Sacred Heart) totaled a game-best 24 assists. Making the start as libero,
Camryn Sanchez (El Cernito, Calif./Albany HS) posted 23 digs.
AGAINST CEDAR CREST
The Falcons jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the opening set, but the Gryphons closed the gap with a 9-3 run to come within a point. Cedar Crest used a 5-2 spurt to hold the lead for good en route to taking a 1-0 series lead. In the second game, Sarah Lawrence scored the set's first three points, but the Falcons rallied for nine unanswered. Following a timeout, the Gryphons tied the game with six straight points. Knotted at 15, Cedar Crest pulled away with seven consecutive points to take win the game and a 2-0 series advantage. Tied 5-5 in the third game, the Falcons finished the set outscoring Sarah Lawrence 20-7 to complete the sweep.
LaRocca finished with a team-high five kills, while Kilroy tallied seven assists and Sanchez posted a game-high 18 digs.
