BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball team suffered a 64-57 loss to St. Joseph's Brooklyn Wednesday in a Skyline meeting at Campbell Sports Center.

Both teams struggled from the field in the opening period, each shooting below 40-percent for the half. It was a seesaw battle in the opening minutes, including seven lead changes and four ties. Knotted at 11,
Malin Segal (Wenham, Mass./Concord Academy) connected on a triple to give the Gryphons the lead (14-11), but the Bears answered with seven straight points to reclaim an advantage. Sarah Lawrence quickly tied the game, burying back-to-back three-point attempts (20-20). St. Joseph's Brooklyn finished the half on an 11-4 run over the final 3:45 to take a 31-24 edge into halftime.
St. Joseph's Brooklyn opened up a 44-31 lead in the second half, its largest of the contest. Similar to Monday's game at Mount Saint Mary, the Gryphons did not go away quietly, chipping away at the deficit with a 14-3 run to make it a one-possession game (47-45).
The Bears extended their lead with a 7-2 spurt (54-47), but Sarah Lawrence trimmed the deficit back to two with 2:24 left to the play (54-52). St. Joseph's pulled away, scoring six straight points to extend its lead, while hitting free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
TOP GRYPHON PERFORMANCES
Austin Jones (Upper Marlboro, Md./Flint Hill School) reached double-figures for the third straight game, posting 12 points to go along with 10 rebounds and seven assists to pick up his second double-double of the season.
Segal added 10 points, a season-high nine rebounds and a team-best four steals.
BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) contributed nine points and 10 rebounds, his third double-digit rebound performance of the season, while
Kaleb Robinson (Las Vegas, Nev./Deerfield Academy (Mass.)) posted eight points.
Luke O'Connor (Northport, N.Y./The Stony Brook School) finished with six points and four rebounds, and
Enike Anyia (Los Angeles, Calif./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) tallied seven points and seven boards.
