O’Connor Scores Career-High in Road Loss at Old Westbury

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - Sarah Lawrence College sophomore Luke O'Connor (Northport, N.Y./The Stony Brook School) scored a career-high 13 points, but it wasn't enough as the Gryphons suffered a 79-64 road loss at Old Westbury Thursday at Clark Athletic Center.

RECAP
The Panthers scored the first five points of the contest and maintained a lead throughout the evening. Sarah Lawrence cut its deficit to one possession with a basket from BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) with 6:15 left in the half (25-23), but Old Westbury extended its lead to double-digits with a 13-2 run (36-25). O'Connor scored the last five points of the half to shrink the margin to single-digits heading into halftime (36-30).

Old Westbury pulled away in the second half, opening the period with 13 unanswered points, building its largest lead of the game (49-30). Sarah Lawrence got within 10 (66-56) with 6:33 left to play with a steal and score from Malin Segal (Wenham, Mass./Concord Academy), but the Panthers quickly increased their lead en route to picking up their fifth conference victory of the season.

TOP GRYPHON PERFORMANCES
Sanders posted his fourth double-double of the season, recording 18 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and one block.

Kaleb Robinson (Las Vegas, Nev./Deerfield Academy (Mass.)) reached double-figures for the fifth time this season, recording 10 points, two boards and three assists. Enike Anyia (Los Angeles, Calif./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) finished with nine points, six rebounds and one steal, while Isaiah Pean (Spring Valley, N.Y./Dwight-Englewood) recorded seven points, three rebounds and a pair of assists.

Sarah Lawrence returns to action Saturday (Jan. 20) to host Purchase College at Campbell Sports Center. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
