THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team dropped a Skyline match Tuesday at Maritime, falling in five sets at Riesenberg Gym.

RECAP
Sarah Lawrence and Maritime traded points in the opening game, but back-to-back scores from the Gryphons secured a 25-22 win and a 1-0 series lead. The Privateers responded in the second game, winning the set by a 25-22 margin to even the series.
In the third set, Maritime pulled away with a 7-0 spurt to take a 14-7 lead, cruising to a 25-14 win and a 2-1 edge in the series. Facing elimination, Sarah Lawrence fought back to force a decisive fifth set, winning the fourth game by a 25-20 score.
The Privateers raced out to a 4-1 lead to begin the final game, and recorded seven unanswered points to win by a 15-10 decision.
Melanie Coleman finished with a game-high 26 kills, just one short of the school record she notched in a win over King's. Lucy Decarlo finished with a career-high nine aces, while
Camryn Sanchez and
Lauren Kilroy recorded three apiece.
Helen Song finished with a team-best four blocks, while Coleman added three and Decarlo contributed two.
Isabel Pecora posted 35 assists and 15 digs, while Kilroy paced the Gryphons with 24 digs in the loss.

Sarah Lawrence returns to action Friday (Oct. 19) with its Senior Day match against CCNY at Campbell Sports Center. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the ceremony happening moments before the contest.
