RECAP
Making its 2018 Fleming Field debut, Sarah Lawrence scored six goals in the opening frame.
Tiffany McBrayer gave the Gryphons a 1-0 lead 2:14 into the match, finishing inside the box to the far post.
Sophia Spralja scored in the 30th minute, shaking off several Yeshiva defenders to create room for a terrific finish. McBrayer scored again in the 33rd minute, ripping a high shot to the far post off a cross from Spralja. The rookie completed the hat trick less than a minute later, scoring off another feed from Spralja.
Kiley Ritter found the back of the net in the 37th minute, followed by a second goal from Spralja off a rebound in the 40th minute.
The Gryphons tacked on three more goals in the second half. Ritter notched her second goal of the evening in the 49th minute, playing a great through ball from
Maddie Eppler. Ritter completed her third hat trick of the year in the 59th minute, taking a pass from Spralja and dribbling up the field for a finish to the near post.
Ritter is the first Gryphon in program history to record three hat tricks in a single season. She is also the only player in the Skyline to record at least three goals in three games.
The rookie has 15 goals this year, the most scored in a single season in team history. The mark beats the previous best of 14 posted by teammate
Lauren Ashby last season. Ritter has a total of 34 points through 11 games, also a new team standard.
Goalkeeper
Madison Mertsch scored her first collegiate goal in the 86th minute, flicking in a header following a scramble in the box.
The squad's nine goals are a season-high and the most goals in a conference game in school history.
Mertsch got the start in goal, while
Andi Pfau also saw action in net, making one save.
With the win, the Gryphons tie the school record for wins (5) and conference victories (3) in a campaign. It was also win No. 10 for second-year head coach
Maurizio Grillo, tying him for the most victories for a head coach in program history.
UP NEXT
