JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team competed in the NJCU Tri-Match on Saturday at JJ Moore Athletic Center. The Gryphons lost, 3-1, in the opening match against NJCU, and lost in straight sets to Brooklyn in the nightcap.

NJCU (10-15) def. Sarah Lawrence (6-13), 3-1.
25-21, 25-12, 19-25, 25-20.
Brooklyn (15-7) def. Sarah Lawrence (6-14), 3-0.

RECAP
Melanie Coleman finished with 19 kills on the afternoon, while contributing 10 digs and a pair of blocks.
Cat Ramey recorded 11 kills and a pair of aces, while
Camryn Sanchez finished with nine kills, 11 digs and one ace.
Isabel Pecora tallied 37 assists, 27 digs and an ace, while Lucy Decarlo contributed a team-best four aces.
Lauren Kilroy notched 46 digs, while
Sarah Gartner added 11.
NJCU 3, SLC 1
The Gothic Knights, who entered the match 2-1 against Skyline opponents, won the opening set by a 25-21 score, and cruised to a 25-12 victory in the second game for a 2-0 series lead.
Sarah Lawrence avoided a sweep, winning the third set by a 25-19 score. NJCU closed out the match in the fourth set, defeating the Gryphons 25-20.
Brooklyn 3, SLC 0
The Bulldogs raced out to a 19-9 lead in the opening set, winning the first game, 25-16. Brooklyn took a 2-0 lead in the series despite a late rally from the Gryphons in the second set, holding on to win, 25-23. Brooklyn completed the sweep, taking the third set by a 25-19 margin.
