BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Sarah Lawrence first year
Drew Lei-Alerta set a school record on Saturday, as the Sarah Lawrence women's swimming team opened up the 2018-19 campaign with a 110-33 victory over Queensborough Community College at Campbell Sports Center.

GRYPHON INDIVIDUAL VICTORIES
Competing in her first collegiate meet, Lei-Alerta broke the school record in the 200 fly, turning in a time of 2:18.23. The rookie beat the previous best of 2:20.05 set by
Colette Harley in 2014.
It was one of two victories for the first year, as she took the top spot in the 50 free with a mark of 26.68.
Eimile Briggs had an impressive first meet, taking first-place in two events. The first year was victorious in the 200 free with a time of 2:29.56, while winning the 100 free in 1:07.25.
Andrea Corbin was solid in her season debut, winning the 200 IM with a time of 2:36.95. She was also victorious in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 2:52.63.
Devon Peal was the top swimmer in the 200 back, finishing in 2:29.05.
GRYPHON RELAY VICTORIES
In the 200 medley relay, a team of Peal, Corbin, Lei-Alerta and
Audrey de Szendeffy completed the race in 2:03.53.
In the 400 free relay, a quartet of
Nicole Nedens,
Caitie Adler, Briggs and De Szendeffy finished in 4:28.43.

Sarah Lawrence returns to the pool on Saturday (Oct. 27) to host the SLC/TYR Sprint Carnival at Campbell Sports Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
