Stafford Breaks Four-Year Old School Record at Mount Saint Mary

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Sarah Lawrence first year Chaz Stafford continues to have a strong rookie campaign, breaking another school record on Saturday in the team's Skyline dual meet at Mount Saint Mary at Kaplan Recreation Center.

GRYPHONS VICTORIES
Stafford set a new standard in a first-place finish in the 1,650 free. The rookie touched the wall in 17:06.21, shattering the record of 18:23.11 set by Albert Riley in 2014. The first year also broke his own record in 1,000 free during the competition.

Stafford now owns the team record in the 500 free, 1,000 free, 1,650 free and 200 back.

Miles Washington was the top swimmer in the 200 IM, winning in 2:16.32, while classmate Mani Roshandel won the 200 breast in 2:28.17.

GRYPHONS RELAYS
Sarah Lawrence won both of its relays. In the 400 medley relay, a team of Stafford, Roshandel, Washington and Anthony Lee won in 3:54.11, 55 seconds faster than Mount Saint Mary's squad. In the 400 free relay, the quartet won in 3:28.82, beating out a pair of Knights' teams.
