Women's Swimming Wins First Road Meet of Season at Cobleskill

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's swimming team turned in a strong performance Saturday in its first road meet of the season, defeating SUNY Cobleskill, 157-58, at Bouck Natatorium.

GRYPHONS VICTORIES
Drew Lei-Alerta was the best swimmer in the 1,000 free, touching the wall in 11:33.12. The rookie was also the top performer in the 100 fly (1:02.82) and 50 fly (29.44). 

Devon Peal was victorious in the 200 free, finishing the race in 2:14.28. It was one of three individual wins for the senior, who swam to a first-place finish in the 100 back (1:07.26) and 500 free (6:08.90).

Eimile Briggs won the 50 back in 34.16, and was the top swimmer in 100 free with a mark 1:06.08.

Caitie Adler was victorious in the 50 breast, winning in 36.93, while Audrey De Szendeffy was the top swimmer in the 50 free, touching the wall in 28.87.

Andrea Corbin turned in a first-place effort in the 100 breast, completing the race in 1:18.02.

GRYPHONS RELAYS
Sarah Lawrence won each relay event. In the 200 medley relay, a team of Abigail Falato, De Szendeffy, Adler and Nicole Nedens finished in 2:17.24, while a squad of Briggs, Corbin, De Szendeffy and Peal won the 200 free relay in 1:54.77.
