Men’s Swimming Defeats Purchase at Skyline Tri-Meet

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's swimming team wrapped up the semester Saturday with a Skyline tri-meet at Purchase Pool. The Gryphons defeated the Panthers, 99-30, but fell to defending conference champion Merchant Marine, 117-52, in the final meet of 2018.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Chaz Stafford, the Skyline Swimmer of the Week, was the top performer in the 1,000 free. He finished with a time of 10:20.10, 22 seconds faster than the second-place participant. The rookie was also the runner-up in the 200 back, touching the wall in 2:08.83. 

Anthony Lee was the runner-up in the 100 free, finishing in 50.89. The senior also placed third in the 200 free with a mark of 1:59.22.

Miles Washington posted a pair of runner-up performances, placing second in the 50 free (23.23) and second in the 200 fly (2:26.85).

Jacob Ringo was the second-place finisher in the 500 free, posting a time of 5:46.54, while Mani Roshandel was the runner-up in the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.36.

Sarah Lawrence returns to the pool on Jan. 18 for a dual meet with Staten Island at Campbell Sports Center.
