Pean Posts Career Day in Home Finale Against St. Joseph’s Long Island

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – In the final home game of the 2017-18 season, first-year Isaiah Pean (Spring Valley, N.Y./Dwight-Englewood) posted career-highs in rebounds, assists and steals, but it wasn't enough as the men's basketball team suffered a 70-45 loss to St. Joseph's Long Island Tuesday at Campbell Sports Center.

RECAP
The Golden Eagles raced out to a 20-12 lead to begin the contest, but Sarah Lawrence outscored its opponent 15-5 over the final 10:38 to take a 27-25 edge into halftime. The Gryphons outscored St. Joseph's 14-8 in the paint and 8-3 in points off turnovers.

St. Joseph's got it going offensively in the second half, shooting 53-percent from the field while forcing 11 turnovers to outscore Sarah Lawrence 45-18 in the period, picking up the season-sweep. The Golden Eagles were led by Isaiah Moore, who scored 17 of his game-high 23 points in the final period.

TOP GRYPHON PERFORMANCES
Pean finished with eight points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals in his final home game at Noyes Court.

BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) paced the Gryphons with 13 points in the contest, while adding eight rebounds. Luke O'Connor (Northport, N.Y./The Stony Brook School) posted eight points, four assists and two rebounds, while Enike Anyia (Los Angeles, Calif./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) contributed seven points, six boards and two steals.

Playing in his final game at Campbell Sports Center, senior Malin Segal (Wenham, Mass./Concord Academy) recorded five points, two rebounds, one assist, one block and three swipes. Austin Jones (Upper Marlboro, Md./Flint Hill School) added four points, six boards, three assists, one block and one steal in the loss.

Sarah Lawrence concludes its season Saturday (Feb. 17) at Maritime. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
