MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Cazenovia College scored five runs in the sixth inning to come from behind and defeat Sarah Lawrence College, 6-5, Tuesday in a non-conference softball contest at North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex.

Taryn Penna (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) began the game with a leadoff bunt, followed by stealing second base. On the next at-bat,
Riley Vuyovich (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) doubled to left field to score Penna, and later scored on a fielding error by the Wildcats.
The Gryphons tacked on another run in the second inning, capitalizing on a pair of Cazenovia miscues.
Kelsey Copley (West Jefferson, Ohio/West Jefferson) led the inning off with a walk, advanced to third base following back-to-back singles, and rounded the bases on a throwing error.
Sarah Lawrence built on its lead in the third inning, plating two more runs, highlighted by a RBI triple from
Baylie Petit (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) and a RBI groundout from Copley.
Cazenovia began to mount its comeback in the fourth inning with a RBI triple, while turning five hits into five runs in the sixth inning en route to picking up the win.
Penna finished 3-for-4 in the contest, while Vuyovich and
Mackenzie Mindish (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) recorded two hits apiece.
Karissa McAuley (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie) had a strong outing on the mound for the Gryphons, yielding one run on six hits with five strikeouts.
Delaney Parker (Milford, N.H./Milford) and
Mikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington) pitched the final three innings, but were roughed up by the Wildcats offense, giving up five runs on six hits.
