BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College softball team got strong pitching performances from
Mikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington) and
Delaney Parker (Milford, N.H./Milford) on Sunday, leading the Gryphons to a series sweep of Yeshiva University at Mary Levine Field. The Gryphons won the first game, 9-1, in five innings, while taking the nightcap, 8-0, in six innings.

Sarah Lawrence, now winners of a program-record 13 games this season, got great production out of its first-year student-athletes.
Skyler Vallarta (Brea, Calif./Sonora) hit .800 on the day, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scored, while
Tess Carrier (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Palos Verdes) went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and one run scored.
Tricia McLain (Redding, Calif./Enterprise) contributed two hits, two runs and four RBIs.
Mackenzie Mindish (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional),
Baylie Petit (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore),
Riley Vuyovich (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and
Karissa McAuley (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie) each recorded a RBI in the sweep, while Vuyovich and Mindish scored three runs apiece.
Cunningham and Parker were sensational in the circle, holding Yeshiva to a batting average of .103 (4-for-39) while combing to strike out 13 batters.
It's the Gryphons' fourth doubleheader sweep of the year, the most in a single-season in team history.
With the sweep, Sarah Lawrence continues its recent dominance over the Maccabees, now defeating Yeshiva in five consecutive contests.
Game 1: Sarah Lawrence 9, Yeshiva 1
The Gryphons plated two runs in the second inning, thanks to RBIs from Carrier and Vallarta. Yeshiva got a run back in the third, unearned, but Sarah Lawrence responded with a run from Petit to maintain a two-run cushion.
Sarah Lawrence pulled away in the fourth inning, scoring six runs. The frame featured a two-run double from Petit and a two-run single from McLain.
Cunningham notched her third complete game win of the season and second of the week. The tri-captain tossed 5.0 innings, limiting Yeshiva to two hits. The junior was perfect in the final 2.1 innings of action.
Game 2: Sarah Lawrence 8, Yeshiva 0
Sarah Lawrence scored two runs in the opening frame, fueled by a RBI groundout from Vallarta and an error by the Maccabees that scored Mindish.
The Gryphons tacked on another run in the second, a RBI single to score pinch-runner
Em Hammett (Columbus, Ohio/The Wellington School), and scored once more in the fifth inning, highlighted by a sacrifice fly from Carrier.
Sarah Lawrence plated four in the sixth inning, powered by a RBI double from Vuyovich and a two-run double from McLain.
Parker was stellar in her fourth complete game of the year, not allowing a hit in the first 3.2 innings of play, including a stretch of nine straight retired batters. Parker struck out eight in the victory.

Sarah Lawrence continues its home stand Tuesday (Apr. 17) with a doubleheader against Brooklyn College. Game one is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
