Skyline Announces Winter/Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Seven Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes were named to the Skyline Winter/Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams, announced by the league office on Friday.

At the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year, the Skyline All-Sportsmanship Team honorees are eligible to receive the annual Male & Female Sporting Awards.

In addition to being part of the Skyline Conference mission statement, the NCAA Division III Philosophy Statement encourages "the development of sportsmanship and positive societal attitudes in all constituents, including student-athletes, coaches, administrative personnel and spectators."

Men's Basketball
Rookie Isaiah Pean was an immediate contributor to the Gryphons this season, appearing in all 25 games, making 23 starts. Pean scored nine or more points seven times, including a season-high 12 at Farmingdale State.

Women's Basketball
Junior Taryn Penna started every game for the Gryphons in their inaugural varsity season, leading the team in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. The junior reached double-figures 16 times, including five 20-point efforts. Penna also notched six double-doubles and posted seven games with at least five steals.

Men's Swimming
Senior Charles Allard swam in all 11 meets this season, recording a personal-best time in a victory in the 500 yard freestyle. Allard, the 2018 Men's Swimming Coaches Award recipient, has swam in over 30 meets in his career.  

Women's Swimming
Erika Pereda swam in seven meets this season, helping the Gryphons to a 6-2 dual meet record with a pair of two-five finishes in freestyle races.

Softball
Senior Riley Vuyovich, who was recently named to the Skyline All-Conference First Team, was the Gryphons' offensive catalyst in 2018, pacing the team in nearly every offensive category, including hits (36), runs (26), RBIs (20), doubles (8), home runs (4) and total bases (56). Vuyovich notched nine multi-hit performances and five multi-RBI outings, while recording a 12-game hitting streak from March 15 to April 13.

Men's Tennis
Senior Ben Dougherty won three singles matches this season, notching victories over St. Joseph's Brooklyn, Albertus Magnus and York (N.Y.). Dougherty finishes his career with seven singles wins.

Men's Volleyball
Sophomore Ithai Diakov played in all 23 matches for Sarah Lawrence, pacing the Gryphons in assists (145) while ranking second in aces (19), and third in digs (83) and blocks (3).
